Ben Best has more than 30 years of construction management experience, drawing insight from a diverse background that includes infrastructure, multifamily and commercial construction, historic preservation, asbestos abatement, and federal and state environmental permitting.
A certified builder in Florida since 1984, Best also has managed catastrophic reconstruction for national clients, including the initial assessment of damage created by natural and man-made disasters.
Before co-founding Development Logistics Group, Best was director of construction for National Constructors, Inc. in Sarasota, where he worked as an owner’s representative. Job performance included cost, plan and budget reviews, overview of architectural and engineering consultants, project oversight and financial overview, including lender requests. Prior to that, Best served as a project manager in Sarasota, working as an owner’s representative on the historical preservation remodels.
Best, who studied construction methods and quantitative management at the University of North Florida, performed similar on-site duties on multi-family projects for JTS Development in Jacksonville, and LBI East and PSM Development in Orlando, where he supervised the construction of more than 1,500 units.
A Naeta national asbestos contractor since 1986, Best served as eastern operations manager for IAM of Houston, where he directed the daily operations of project managers on multi-million-dollar asbestos removal projects.
